Benjamin Lumantarna

Benjamin Lumantarna started his professional structural Engineering practice early in 1968, when his former lecturer asked him to join his construction company, Baganik. This company later merged and became Araya Baganik Corporation. He left Araya Baganik Corporation on January 1982 to accept a Doctoral Fellowship offered at The University of Toronto, Canada. The last position he held at Araya Baganik Corporation was manager of civil engineering and construction. After he obtained his Doctoral degree, he worked as a private consultant for several local construction company.
Benjamin is an expert in Earthquake Engineering Design with a very broad and varied design and supervision experience. He has designed and supervised the construction of oil storage tanks and its facilities, liquefied petroleum gas storage tanks, water towers, jetties, low-rise and high-rise buildings. Among others, Pertamina oil storage facilities, Meneng, East Java, Pertamina liquefied petroleum gas storage tanks, Surabaya, Pertamina cottages, Bali and Gudang Garam high-rise office building, Surabaya. Beside his design experience, he has also written more than thirty papers in the structural engineering field.
Benjamin holds an Insinyur (Ir) degree in Structural Engineering from Petra Christian University, Indonesia; a Master of Engineering degree in Structural Engineering and Materials from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand; and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Structural Mechanics and Design from University of Toronto, Canada.

Gideon Hadi Kusuma started his professional Structural Engineering career in 1975 as a Junior Structural Engineer with Mac Donald Wagner & Priddle. In 1976, he joined PT Indolexco Consulting Group and was appointed as a Structural Engineer under a worldwide known consulting group Rendel Palmer & Tritton to design Surabaya Port phase I and II. He left the company in 1984 and work as a private consultant for PT Technocrete and a well-known Chemical Construction Company PT Sika Nusa Pratama. He is currently the director of PT Aremix Planindo.
Gideon is an expert in Earthquake Engineering Design, Structural Concrete, Structural Steel Design and Concrete Technology with a very broad design, repair and supervision experience. He has designed Port and its facilities, Bridges, Roads, Industrial Buildings, low to high rise buildings. Among others, Surabaya Port phase I and II facilities, Arta Niaga Kencana Bank, Tunjungan Shopping Bridge, Surabaya, Regent Park Hotel, Malang and the most famous and largest Catholic Church in East Timor. Beside his professional experience, he has written more than thirty papers in the structural engineering field.
Gideon holds an Insinyur (Ir) degree in Structural Engineering from Petra Christian University, Surabaya, a Master of Engineering degree in Structural Engineering and Mechanics from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand and currently is a member of the 1989 Indonesian Concrete Code working committee. He is a member of several professional organizations. Among others, American Concrete Institute, American Institute of Steel Construction, Australian Institute of Steel Construction, Staal Bouwkunde Genootschap Netherlands, Indonesian Structural Engineering Association. He attended several advance courses abroad, among others, Advanced Concrete Technology in Cement & Concrete Association United Kingdom, Advanced Earthquake Engineering Course in the International Institute of Seismology and Earthquake Engineering, Japan, Advanced Structural Steel Design in Monash University, Australia.
